The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Unit Manager (Mental Health – Acacia Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia
You will
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of contemporary mental health nursing practice
- Provide operational and clinical leadership to a diverse multicultural team
- Align team priorities to desired organisation outcomes, anticipates change and builds contingencies
- Implement processes and strategies that align service delivery to broader service and organisational goals
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Driver Licence
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- $140,632 - $152,685 per annum

Gold Coast Health's Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) provide specialist mental health services across the Gold Coast region. We deliver community and hospital care for children and young people up to 25 years. All CYMHS services are designed to provide developmentally appropriate, family oriented, multidisciplinary mental health care for young people who are experiencing significant mental illness. Acacia Acute Young Adult Inpatient Unit is a 12 bed inpatient service which specialises in mental health inpatient treatment of young adults aged 18-25yrs. The Acacia unit also includes a 4 bed secure unit.
