About the role
The Pharmacy Student supports the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services at The Prince Charles Hospital while undertaking formal tertiary studies in Pharmacy. Working under the supervision of Registered Pharmacists, the role provides valuable workplace experience and practical skills development while contributing to effective patient care and pharmacy service delivery.
The successful candidate will undertake a range of clinical support and administrative activities, gain experience in hospital pharmacy practice, and develop professional knowledge and skills through hands-on learning opportunities. The role offers exposure to a multidisciplinary healthcare environment and supports students in building the competencies required for future practice as a Pharmacist.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Undertake pharmacy support activities under the supervision of Registered Pharmacists, including dispensing, medication supply and patient medication history collection.
- Apply and develop pharmacy knowledge and clinical skills through ongoing tertiary studies and practical workplace experience.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and healthcare professionals while contributing to safe and effective patient care.
- Work collaboratively within the Pharmacy Department and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support person-centred care and service delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement, research, training and administrative activities that support professional development and service excellence.
