About your role

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Geriatric Medicine at Redland Hospital. 

In this role you will:

  • Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient Geriatric Medicine services.
  • Lead the development of Redland Hospital's expanding Geriatric Model of Care.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred care.
  • Provide clinical leadership, governance and evidence-based decision making.
  • Supervise and mentor Registrars, junior doctors and medical students.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines, policies and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in service planning, patient flow and continuous improvement.
  • Support education, research and professional development across the department.

About you

You're a compassionate and experienced Geriatrician who is passionate about improving the health, independence and quality of life of older people.

You'll bring:

  • FRACP (or equivalent) with accreditation in Geriatric Medicine.
  • Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA.
  • Expertise across acute, subacute and rehabilitation geriatrics.
  • Strong experience in comprehensive geriatric assessment.
  • Excellent leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and clinical governance.
  • Experience teaching and mentoring junior medical staff.
  • Outstanding communication with patients, carers and colleagues.
  • Passion for service development and innovative models of care.

Redland Hospital:

Redland Hospital is the major health centre for adults and children in the Redlands and Brisbane's southern bayside suburbs. We provide a range of services including emergency care, primary health and minor injury care, acute and subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity and paediatric, mental specialist outpatient and mental health care.
