About the role

You will currently be studying the Diploma of Anaesthetic Technology through a registered training authority (e.g. TAFE QLD). This temporary part time opportunity will give you clinical insight and essential learning to guide you into completing your diploma. You will have the opportunity to assist an Anaesthetist in the safe conduct of all Anaesthetic Procedures, provide competent skilled assistance to the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, and act as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing a high standard of patient care.

 

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • The Anaesthetic AHP Trainee is responsible for preparing the anaesthetic environment and is required to be present during the induction and maintenance for all elective and emergency anaesthetic procedures, under immediate supervision.
  • Maintain and perform contemporary anaesthetic practice by participating in continuing professional development. Aspects of professional development include acquiring and maintaining knowledge and skills through active participation in conferences, seminars, workplaces competencies and self-directed learning. It is a requirement for all Queensland health employees to complete mandatory training.
  • Demonstrate initiative and participate as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring all patient needs are met.
