The Townsville Public Health Unit (TPHU) delivers population health services across North West Queensland through environemntal health, communicable disease control, immunisation and health protection programs, supporting healthier communties.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $128,169 to $137,918 p.a. (HP4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Rural and Remote allowance
  • Professional Development allowance and leave
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity:

Join the TPHU as a Senior Environmental Health Officer based in Mount Isa. Lead complex environmental health activities, provide expert advice and work with Aboriginal communities and key stakeholders to protect and improve public health across North West Queensland.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree accredited by Environmental Health Australia (or equivalent) and proof of registration (if applicable)
  • Travel may be required, including stays in remote Indigenous communities.
  • Possession of a Class C driver's licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
