About the Schools:
The New Secondary School at Logan Reserve and New State Special School at Logan Reserve are modern learning environments designed to support excellence in education, inclusion, wellbeing, and community engagement.
As part of the Corporate Services team, you will work collaboratively across both schools to establish a positive safety culture, support staff wellbeing, and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements from the very beginning. Your work will help create safe and supportive environments that enable every staff member and student to succeed.
About the Role:
Reporting to school leadership and working collaboratively across both school communities, the Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator will provide expert advice, support, and coordination in workplace health, safety, wellbeing, risk management, and rehabilitation and return-to-work processes. Working across two foundation schools, you will help establish systems and practices that promote physically and psychologically safe workplaces while supporting continuous improvement in health and safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, professional, and confidential workplace health and safety advice to school leaders and staff.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing systems across both schools.
- Assist with risk assessments, inspections, audits, hazard management, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up activities.
- Support rehabilitation and return-to-work processes for ill or injured employees through early intervention and ongoing case coordination.
- Monitor WHS data to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate safety training, inductions, and awareness activities that build staff capability and strengthen safety culture.
- Support leadership teams in emergency preparedness, fire safety compliance, and critical incident response.
- Develop reports, recommendations, and communications that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring:
- Experience in workplace health and safety, risk management, rehabilitation, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety principles and best practices
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities across multiple sites
Highly Desirable:
- Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher qualification in Workplace Health and Safety
- Experience in Rehabilitation and Return to Work coordination
- Experience working within education, government, or large organisational environments
