Take the Lead in ICU Quality & Clinical Excellence

Join one of Australia's leading tertiary Intensive Care Units and use your clinical expertise to drive quality improvement, patient safety and evidence-based practice while supporting a high-performing multidisciplinary team. This role is Temporary Part-Time (64 hours per fortnight), up to 12 months.

Your new role:

As the Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant – Quality, you'll work alongside the Clinical Nurse Consultant and multidisciplinary team to lead quality initiatives that enhance patient safety, clinical governance and evidence-based practice across the Intensive Care Unit. This role combines advanced clinical expertise with quality leadership, supporting continuous improvement while maintaining exceptional standards of person-centred care. You will:

• Lead and support quality improvement, clinical audit and benchmarking activities.
• Monitor quality data, identify trends and implement sustainable improvements.
• Provide advanced clinical leadership, education and mentoring to nursing staff.
• Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety and clinical governance.

About you:

You're an experienced ICU nurse who is passionate about quality, clinical excellence and improving patient outcomes. You enjoy working collaboratively, leading change and using data and evidence to drive meaningful improvements. You'll bring:

• Advanced ICU expertise with strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
• Quality improvement experience, including clinical audits, data analysis and implementing practice improvements.
• Leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor, influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centred care and continuous professional development.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
