As the Senior Investigator, you will lead and conduct complex environmental investigations involving serious or high-level offences under legislation.
This includes:
- Leading investigations using specialist technical, scientific and expert evidence.
- Conducting interviews, taking witness statements and formal records of interview.
- Executing search warrants and exercising statutory and regulatory powers.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to deliver high quality outcomes under pressure.
- Conducting site inspections, execute search warrants and manage evidence in accordance with legislative and evidentiary requirements.
- Preparing high quality briefs of evidence where litigation is a likely outcome.
- Effectively using the electronic case management system to manage investigations and evidence.
- Working closely with legal officers to support litigation and court related outcomes.
- Applying risk and project management principles to deliver investigations efficiently within prescribed timeframes.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and support to team members.
- Summoning, preparing and supporting witnesses for court proceedings.
- Plan and prioritise investigative activities, including task allocation, timeframe management, travel efficiency, data capture and evidence management.
- Lead by example in safe work practices and the lawful, safe conduct of investigative operations.
- Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace that is free from bullying, discrimination and harassment.
