About the role

The Advanced Clinical Neuropsychologist delivers specialised clinical neuropsychology services across the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and broader Queensland Health networks. The role provides expert assessment, consultation and rehabilitation services for patients with suspected brain injury, neurological impairment and complex neuropsychological presentations, supporting clinical diagnosis, treatment planning and patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will work across inpatient and outpatient settings, providing advanced neuropsychological assessment and intervention for patients with neurological conditions, including those undergoing awake neurosurgical procedures. The role also contributes to research, clinical leadership, service development and education activities that support excellence in neuropsychological practice and multidisciplinary healthcare delivery.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide advanced clinical neuropsychology assessment, rehabilitation and consultation services for patients with complex neurological and neuro-oncological conditions.
  • Apply expert clinical judgement and innovative problem-solving skills to manage complex caseloads and support evidence-based clinical decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes and provide specialist neuropsychological input into treatment and care planning.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision and education to psychology staff and postgraduate clinical neuropsychology students.
  • Lead and contribute to research, quality improvement and service development activities that advance neuropsychological practice and healthcare outcomes.
