We are seeking an experienced 005 Ranger to join our team based in Manly.This predominantly office-based role provides operational support to a Senior Ranger and multiple management units, helping deliver key work programs across the region.A major focus of the role is supporting the Bribie Island Recreation Area, a popular destination for day visitors and campers.Compliance and enforcement activities form an important part of the position. This position works within the Moreton Bay region and subject to operational needs work locations may vary from Bribie Island in the north to South Stradbroke Island in the south. This position, however, is mainly office based and supports a Senior Ranger and various management units to deliver operational work programs. The role supports the Bribie Island Recreation Area management unit, which is visited by many day visitors and campers, with compliance and enforcement being a significant component of that unit's work duties. A background in compliance and enforcement activities and experience interpreting and applying legislation will be highly regarded. Further, the applicant will have (or willingness to obtain) a foundational understanding of conservation and land management and the ability to apply these concepts in practical ways.
The position will also support the planning, coordination and delivery of capital works and infrastructure projects. This may include assisting with project planning, contractor liaison, project monitoring and reporting, and helping to ensure works are delivered in accordance with environmental, legislative and organisational requirements. Experience working on projects, infrastructure programs, or asset management activities will be highly regarded.
This position may be required to supplement field rosters by undertaking compliance patrols, planned burns, wildfire deployments, conservation projects, or servicing and maintenance tasks. Therefore, experience in land management will be highly regarded; however, these skills can also be developed on the job.
