Queensland's passenger rail network is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. The Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office is responsible for delivering a growing portfolio of major rail infrastructure projects that will shape how people move across the state, including projects that support Queensland's future growth and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

As Director (Digital Railways), you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring digital capability becomes a practical enabler of successful project delivery across this significant rail program. Reporting to senior rail engineering leadership, you will lead the implementation and integration of advanced digital systems, technologies and methodologies that strengthen planning, design, construction, asset management and operational performance.

This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure delivery, engineering, technology and governance. You will lead a specialist team and provide the direction, oversight and professional leadership needed to embed digital engineering capability across complex, high-value rail projects. Your focus will be on turning digital innovation into measurable delivery outcomes through the effective use of Building Information Modelling (BIM), geospatial technologies, automation, data analytics and emerging smart rail solutions.

Working across a diverse stakeholder environment, you will bring together project teams, technical specialists, contractors, rail partners and government agencies to drive consistent approaches, improve decision-making and support the successful delivery of critical infrastructure outcomes. You will provide trusted advice to senior executives, influence investment and delivery decisions, and help ensure digital systems and processes are aligned with broader program objectives and departmental priorities.

Success in this role will be reflected in stronger project performance, improved integration across delivery partners, enhanced governance and assurance, and the establishment of sustainable digital capability that supports the full lifecycle management of rail assets. Your leadership will help create safer, more efficient and future-ready rail infrastructure while supporting transparent engagement with stakeholders and the community.

We are seeking an accomplished leader with significant experience in large-scale infrastructure delivery environments, ideally within rail or transport. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong judgement, a collaborative leadership style and the ability to navigate complexity, risk and competing priorities. Equally important is your ability to lead high-performing teams, influence diverse stakeholders and drive practical outcomes in a fast-paced and high-profile delivery environment.

This is an opportunity to contribute to some of Queensland's most significant rail investments while shaping how digital capability supports the delivery of infrastructure outcomes for communities across the state.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
