Casual Support Officer

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking Casual Support Officers to join the Program Management Unit. The Program Management Unit is responsible for managing a range of logistical activities to support the Assessment, Reporting and ICT Systems Division and Curriculum Services Division to implement NAPLAN testing and senior external assessment in schools. This role has been extended for applications until 9 September 2026.

What you will do

In the Casual Support Officer role, you will:

  • Respond to helpdesk queries from schools, markers and invigilators by phone and email.
  • Record details of all contact in a contact management system (JIRA).
  • Assist schools with software
  • Follow data management
  • Contact and support
  • Undertake general administrative
  • Facilitation of oral assessments using Microsoft Teams.

What we are looking for

  • A completed Screening Questionnaire.
  • Strong customer service experience; previous call centre experience is advantageous.
  • Professional phone manner: Polite, friendly, confident and positive. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong numeracy skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to remain calm and effective during high pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen carefully, clarify information and respond appropriately.
  • Strong judgement with the ability to assess issues and make sound decisions.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • The ability to work as part of a team, or independently when
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office, and general IT/typing

Reporting relationships

  • This role reports to the Manager, Program Management No roles report directly to this role
