As Senior Desktop Support Officer, you will play a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality desktop and end-user support services across CITEC's environment.

You will contribute to a responsive incident and problem resolution service that minimises disruption, meets agreed performance targets, and ensures the effective operation of desktop devices and peripherals. Working in a fast-paced technical environment, you will provide expert support across hardware, software and local area network issues, while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, service quality and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will communicate professionally with clients, stakeholders and management to understand service requirements and deliver timely, cost-effective and efficient support outcomes. You will manage incidents and escalations through ServiceNow in line with established IT service management processes and provide clear feedback to users throughout the problem-solving process. You will also contribute to the planning, development and implementation of strategies that strengthen integrated, client-focused technology services.

A key part of the role is providing technical leadership and mentoring across support teams. You will work collaboratively with first-level support through the Service Centre and third-level support through Microsoft Support Services to improve the effectiveness and value of desktop support services for CITEC and its clients. You will help foster a culture of cooperation, knowledge sharing and service excellence, while ensuring adherence to quality system documentation, desktop governance requirements, change management processes and recognised best-practice frameworks such as ITIL.

The role also carries primary responsibility for Community Recovery support, including ensuring devices are maintained with current applications, properly configured and ready for deployment when needed. This requires a proactive approach, sound judgement and the ability to maintain service readiness in support of critical operational needs.

To succeed in this position, you will bring strong technical expertise in the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of personal computers, peripheral devices, local area networks, operating systems and common desktop software, including products such as Windows, Microsoft Office and Intune. You will have well-developed diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues, resolve problems efficiently and recommend practical improvements.

You will also demonstrate initiative, sound decision-making and the ability to generate new ideas and creative solutions that support organisational goals. A strong customer focus is essential, along with proven experience delivering high-quality IT support services in a professional environment. You will be able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, set realistic goals and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills are critical to this role. You will need the ability to engage effectively with individuals and groups, explain technical issues clearly, maintain accurate system documentation and prepare technical reports and other written materials for management. Overall, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional who combines technical capability, customer service, leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
