About the role
As an Operational Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting day-to-day operations of the BreastScreen Queensland Brisbane Northside Service. Working across both clinical and non-clinical environments, you will help maintain a clean, safe and well-equipped facility that enables the delivery of high-quality breast screening services to women across the community. This hands-on role is responsible for a variety of operational support functions, including environmental cleaning, waste and linen management, porterage of equipment and supplies, and assisting with the stock control and maintenance of consumables.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as workplace health and safety, Code of Conduct, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.
- Participation in in-service training as required ensuring compliance with all mandatory training requirements, and to comply with all directions that are commensurate with the 002 level as outlined in the Patient Support Services Manual.
- Perform a range of basic non-clinical tasks including assisting the Service Manager to order/restock consumables and maintain equipment as needed to ensure continuity of service.
- Removal of general, clinical, and recyclable waste and soiled linen and the transportation of clean linen to the designated stations in accordance with Infection Control and local Guidelines.
- Porterage of pharmaceuticals and equipment, ensuring they are securely transported between BreastScreen Queensland and the hospital.
