About the role

The Private Practice Officer, Chart Auditing is responsible for supporting Metro North Health's Private Practice Services through the development, implementation and maintenance of processes that ensure accurate identification and billing of private inpatient episodes. The role plays a key part in revenue management by conducting detailed chart audits and ensuring all chargeable medical services are correctly identified, recorded and billed in accordance with relevant policies and legislative requirements.

The successful candidate will audit patient records, extract and analyse data from multiple healthcare and financial systems, maintain accurate databases and investigate billing enquiries from a range of stakeholders. Working both independently and collaboratively, they will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support revenue optimisation activities and help ensure high-quality, compliant private practice billing services across Metro North Health.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Conduct detailed audits of discharged private inpatient records to identify, validate and document all chargeable medical services for billing purposes.
  • Extract, analyse and manipulate data from healthcare and financial information systems to support accurate inpatient billing and revenue capture.
  • Liaise with specialists, support staff and stakeholders to verify billing information and ensure compliance with private practice policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and update patient, billing and revenue databases while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Contribute to process improvement and revenue optimisation initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance and business continuity within Private Practice Services.
