Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities.
About the role:
- Provide professional administrative support across the Medical/Surgical Ward and Gladstone Hospital service areas.
- Deliver high-quality customer service, acting as a key contact for patients, clients, staff, visitors and the general public.
- Manage enquiries and information confidentially, providing accurate assistance to support effective service delivery in a busy inpatient environment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including filing and storage in line with hospital policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Accurately manage information and competing priorities, using systems such as HBCIS, PatientFlow, Outlook and Microsoft Office while working independently and responsibly.
About you:
- Strong digital and administrative skills, with confidence using word processing, spreadsheets, databases and other information systems accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the tact, diplomacy and discretion needed when working with patients, staff and the public.
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the confidence to consult, negotiate and find practical solutions.
- A flexible and team-focused approach, able to adapt to changing priorities and contribute positively within a busy hospital environment.
- Strong organisation and professionalism, with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines independently and handle confidential or sensitive information appropriately.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $52,558 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $40.17 - $44.67 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
