Lead State Library of Queensland's philanthropy, partnerships and revenue diversification agenda to secure sustainable investment that advances the organisation's vision and strategic priorities.

As Director, Philanthropy and Partnerships and a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide executive leadership of fundraising, donor engagement, sponsorship and strategic partnerships, driving an integrated approach to revenue diversification.

You will provide trusted strategic advice to the State Librarian and CEO, the Executive Leadership Team, the Library Board and the Queensland Library Foundation Council, while building influential relationships across philanthropy, government, business and the community to secure transformational investment that strengthens State Library's impact for Queensland.

State Library of Queensland is seeking an accomplished executive to lead its philanthropy, partnerships and revenue diversification function, securing sustainable investment that advances the organisation's strategic priorities. As Director, Philanthropy and Partnerships, you will lead fundraising, donor stewardship, sponsorship and strategic partnerships. Reporting to the State Librarian and CEO, and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape organisational strategy, influence executive decision-making and position State Library as a leading destination for philanthropic investment and collaboration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading an enterprise-wide philanthropy, partnerships and revenue diversification strategy aligned with State Library's strategic priorities.
  • Providing strategic advice to the State Librarian and CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Library Board and Queensland Library Foundation Council.
  • Identifying, cultivating and securing major philanthropic investment from donors, trusts, foundations, government and corporate partners.
  • Leading fundraising campaigns, sponsorship initiatives and donor stewardship programs that strengthen reputation, engagement and sustainable revenue.
  • Building partnerships across government, business, philanthropy, education and the community.
  • Contributing to organisational strategy, governance, performance and continuous improvement.
  • Leading a high-performing team and fostering an inclusive, collaborative and accountable culture

About the branch
The Philanthropy and Partnerships branch leads fundraising, donor stewardship, sponsorship, partnerships and revenue diversification activities. Working across the organisation and with external stakeholders, the branch secures investment that supports collections, programs and strategic initiatives benefiting Queensland communities.

What success looks like
You will establish an integrated philanthropy and partnerships strategy that diversifies revenue, strengthens donor and partner relationships, grows philanthropic participation and delivers sustainable investment to support State Library's long-term objectives.

About you
You are an experienced executive with a proven record of securing major philanthropic investment, developing strategic partnerships and delivering sustainable revenue growth. You bring strong commercial, governance and stakeholder engagement capability, with experience advising senior executives, boards or foundations and leading high-performing teams.
