The Digital Capital Program (DCP) requires a Senior Business Analyst to support the delivery of ICT project outcomes across Queensland Health's major health infrastructure expansion program. This is a hands-on delivery role embedded within an active project environment, responsible for working with stakeholders to capture, analyse and document business and ICT requirements, support solution development, and ensure project artefacts, business processes and requirements documentation are completed to the standards required for large-scale digital health investments.

The role:
You will be responsible for undertaking business analysis activities within a fixed timeframe project environment, participating as a self-motivated, organised and effective team member while working collaboratively with project resources and stakeholders to achieve program outcomes.
You will be directly involved in analysing business needs, documenting requirements, facilitating stakeholder engagement activities and supporting the delivery of digital solutions across hospital infrastructure projects.
Your work will be measurable and output-focused, grounded in gathering and documenting business requirements, analysing operational processes, developing business analysis artefacts, and ensuring solutions align with the needs of Queensland Health facilities and services.
Specifically, you will:
- Conduct business analysis and business process modelling activities across digital health and ICT projects.
- Capture, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and stakeholder engagement activities to identify business needs and validate requirements.
- Develop and maintain business analysis artefacts including requirements specifications, process maps, stakeholder analyses, business rules and traceability documentation.
- Analyse current-state and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Work with business and technical stakeholders to clarify, validate and refine requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support requirements traceability and validation activities, including user acceptance testing and solution verification.
- Identify business impacts, risks, dependencies and issues associated with proposed changes and communicate these to project stakeholders.
- Prepare reports, briefing materials, presentations and other business analysis documentation as required.
- Contribute as an effective member of a multidisciplinary project team to support successful delivery outcomes.
Are you right for this role?
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Hands-on experience eliciting, analysing, validating and documenting business and system requirements.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and translating outcomes into clear and actionable requirements.
- Experience developing business analysis artefacts including process maps, requirements specifications and business documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex business issues and identify practical solutions.
- Experience supporting testing, implementation and business readiness activities within ICT projects highly desirable.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within project delivery timeframes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare concise reports, presentations and briefing materials.
- Experience working with project risks, issues and dependencies and contributing to their effective management.
- Experience within ICT projects, preferably in healthcare or similarly complex operational environments.
- Ability to apply structured business analysis techniques and critical thinking to support successful project outcomes. Formal business analysis qualifications are desirable, but practical delivery experience is highly valued.
