About us:

The Medical Workforce Support Unit provides specialist medical workforce advice to CQHHS executives and clinical leaders while overseeing health-service-wide medical recruitment and onboarding. The team recruits senior, visiting, junior and locum medical staff, manages Resident Medical Officers and intern term allocations, coordinates credentialing and scope of practice, and supports medical registration and immigration requirements.

The Unit also works closely with clinical and executive leaders to develop a sustainable medical workforce model that meets the needs of CQHHS services. Working closely with the Medical Educational Unit, the team ensure recruitment, workforce planning, education and service delivery are aligned.

About the role:

  • Lead junior medical workforce recruitment - oversee the full recruitment, appointment and onboarding journey for Interns, RMOs and other junior medical staff across CQHHS.
  • Ensure registration and compliance - oversee AHPRA registration, Medicare and provider numbers, specialty college requirements, employment arrangements and other critical governance obligations.
  • Manage immigration and working rights - coordinate employer-sponsored visa nominations and provide guidance to medical officers requiring temporary or permanent visa pathways.
  • Work closely with Clinical Directors, Directors of Clinical Training, executives and external agencies, while contributing to recruitment strategies, workforce planning, quality improvement and retention initiatives.

About you:

  • Medical workforce expertise across career structures, registration, specialty training, immigration, legislation, recruitment and retention.
  • Strong consultation and negotiation skills, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive workforce matters.
  • Exceptional organisation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving ability, including managing complex issues, competing priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $135,639 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $55.10 - $59.95 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
