Role details
The Health Information Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Manager (Information Access Unit) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
Manage and coordinate the processing and monitoring of all requests to access and release of patient information in accordance with relevant legislation and Queensland Health (QH) policies and to act as the Delegated Right to Information (RTI) Decision Maker.
About the Team
Health Information Services (HIS) provides specialist services that embrace the overall commitment to the management and provision of quality patient information to the Mackay Hospital and Health Service.
The service is comprised of the following key areas: Health Information Management, Clinical Coding, Data Quality, Information Access, Scanning Unit, Medical Typing, Corporate Records, Mail Room and the Switchboard. HIS reports to the Executive Director Corporate Services.
While the main office for the Health Information Service is the Mackay Base Hospital, the Manager Information Access Unit, may complete this role from anywhere in Queensland, providing they have suitable computer access, and an appropriate office set up.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,500 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
