Your new role:

As a Senior Social Worker, you will deliver high-quality Social Work and case management services to consumers within the Adult Community Mental Health Team, while contributing to clinical leadership, education and service improvement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing assessment, intervention, case management and evaluation using evidence-based practice.
  • Managing complex clinical workloads and exercising increasingly independent clinical judgement.
  • Providing clinical advice and support to Social Work and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Working collaboratively with consumers, carers, health professionals and community organisations to support positive outcomes and effective discharge planning.
  • Providing supervision, training and support to less experienced clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants.
  • Contributing to quality improvement, research and the development of clinical practices, policies and procedures.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced Social Worker who can bring strong clinical expertise, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to the role, with skills in:

  • Delivering high-level Social Work clinical services within an Adult Community Mental Health setting.
  • Managing complex clinical presentations, prioritising workloads and supporting effective discharge planning.
  • Communicating confidently and working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Providing clinical advice, supervision, training and support to less experienced practitioners and students.
  • Building effective relationships with consumers, carers, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Identifying and contributing to service improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.

You will also need a tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), along with the appropriate Class C motor vehicle licence endorsement.
