At the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB), we are improving customer services to Queenslanders, supporting small and family business owners, and providing better government services and support. We ensure customer-focused, effective and accessible engagement with government for Queenslanders, small and family business owners and other government agencies. We are responsible for driving the Queensland Government's priorities in customer service delivery, digital technology, and data that enables a transparent and efficient government.

The Payroll Learning & Development (PL&D) team is part of HR Services, Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business. The PL&D team works closely with Payroll Services to support payroll capability, quality and continuous improvement by developing and delivering payroll related learning and development through a range of delivery channels.

The Payroll Integrity & Assurance Analyst plays an important role in supporting the quality, consistency and integrity of payroll services. You will undertake data review and analysis of payroll integrity processes, support the implementation and maintenance of standard practices across the branch, monitor the effectiveness of controls, and identify opportunities for process improvement, training and capability uplift.

This role provides an opportunity to combine payroll knowledge, analytical thinking and learning and development, working collaboratively across HR Services and Payroll Services to influence better payroll practices and support positive service outcomes.

As the Payroll Integrity & Assurance Analyst you will:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on payroll integrity requirements; monitor and recommend opportunities for process improvement and standardisation, and identify related training and capability needs.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of payroll integrity requirements and contribute to the provision of practical, informed advice and recommendations.
  • Identify, develop and deliver payroll related training that builds capability and supports quality assurance and consistent payroll processing practices.
  • Promote and support effective teamwork and customer service by building collaborative relationships and understanding and respecting the roles and responsibilities of all QSS team members across HR Services, Payroll Services and the broader organisation.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities that uphold the integrity and compliance of the payroll system, including contributing to the creation, monitoring and analysis of payroll reports and identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
