Join our dynamic team at Goodna Special School as Deputy Principal, leading Special Education in our Prep.

You will play a pivotal leadership role within our family-oriented school community and contribute to innovative projects that support improved outcomes for students.

We are seeking Expression of Interest applications for a temporary full-time position, commencing as soon as possible until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined, with the possibility of extension into 2027.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Goodna Special School is a dedicated and inclusive educational environment, providing high-quality learning experiences for students with disabilities from Prep to Year 12, with a growing enrolment of over 400 students.

The school's teaching and learning approach is underpinned by the principles of positive behaviour support, and evidence-based research.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong skills, expertise and experience, and bring:

  • Extensive knowledge and practical expertise in positive behaviour support and non-linear multielement planning
  • Leadership, coaching and mentoring expertise and experience in evidence-based teaching practices for students with severe and multiple disabilities integrating the principles of neuroscience 
  • Strong management skills in logistics and application of departmental policy and procedures 
  • Strong relational skills, the ability to think on the spot, and pivot for positive outcomes.
