The Executive Manager is responsible for overseeing the business services of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) portfolio, including but not limited to, the Emergency Management Unit, State Operations Coordination Centre, the Clinical Hub and other associated work groups.

The Executive Manager is responsible for the planning, governance and delivery of a wide range of business support services including financial and management accounting; human resource management; occupational health and safety; and general administrative support. The role will provide a high level of support to the Chief Operating Officer, the Assistant Commissioner Statewide Planning and Co-ordination and the Office of the Chief Operating Officer to deliver portfolio outcomes.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

  • Highly developed leadership ability with demonstrated capabilities and experience in managing the complex and diverse coordination of business services to support the delivery of operational emergency services.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse, professional teams in an environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources.
  • Success in the development and implementation of practical, efficient and effective governance arrangements in respect to a range of corporate support functions including finance, human resources and asset management.
  • Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills including a demonstrated ability to interpret financial and trend/output/outcome performance data to drive performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated capabilities and experience in implementing organisational change and service system reform in a complex environment working with a range of diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to implement practices which promote a fair and ethical workplace, employment equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety.

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:

  • Whilst not mandatory, the possession of tertiary or postgraduate qualification/s in a business-related discipline will be highly regarded.
  • The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class driver's licence may be required.
