The QAS Technology Support team provides an operational support service to the Kedron Park Emergency Service Complex (KPESC) and surrounding sites. This includes operational support for technology assets, service facilitation, regionally located servers and secure assets. The branch also assists in broader project work where capability and capacity permit.

The Technical Support Officer is responsible for providing advice and support to management and staff across the QAS, on a broad range of technical issues, including system administration and fleet and asset management. Additionally, the role will contribute to the achievement of ICT Program and Service Management goals through the provision of mentoring and ongoing business improvements.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

  • Well-developed knowledge and understanding of ICT programs and services and demonstrated experience in gathering new insights to innovate, inform and streamline services.
  • Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency.
  • Pursues opportunities for growth through agile learning and development of self-awareness.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills that enable the creation and/or maintenance of system documentation, work instructions and technical reports for management.
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality ICT support to clients, with an emphasis on managing workloads, prioritising tasks and working unsupervised.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and personal qualities that facilitate the development of good working relationships, including mentoring of junior staff, and enhance the provision of quality client service in a team environment.

Mandatory/Special conditions/Other requirements

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:

  • Whilst not mandatory, three years' experience in an enterprise scale ICT services environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework is desirable.
  • Knowledge of mobile device technologies is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Windows Standard Operating Environment (SOE) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of ITSM Tool management for IT service delivery.
