Exciting opportunity as a AO7 Principal Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in helping the department deliver expert procurement advice and support to agencies, suppliers and the community. Working within the Procurement Delivery team, you will lead the sourcing of ICT goods and services and manage supplier relationships to achieve the best balance of cost, quality, risk and innovation. Our team delivers end-to-end procure-to-pay services across ICT contracts, including purchasing, tendering, contract management, vendor management and software licensing, helping clients navigate IT governance and controls to deliver business outcomes that make a real difference every day.

You will be responsible for the sourcing of ICT goods and services to ensure that business objectives are met. The Principal Procurement Officer will manage a set of suppliers that are able to deliver the optimal balance of cost, quality, risk and innovation necessary to deliver on the organisations desired business outcomes.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and manage ICT procurement processes, including drafting, evaluating, and negotiating ICT contracts, to deliver required business outcomes and ensure probity and accountability of the process aligns with Queensland Procurement Policy, Queensland Information Technology Contracting (QITC) framework and legislative requirements.
  • Proactively manage ICT contracts for renewals, delivery and performance including service level agreements, ensuring appropriate mechanisms are in place to monitor performance and complaints resolved.
  • Manage staff to ensure timely performance, professional conduct, improve procurement capabilities and develop, implement and improve current practices within the team, as well as across the department.
  • Prepare procurement, supplier performance and vendor management reports.
  • Represent the business unit in internal and external meetings/committees for procurement, contract management, vendor management and working groups including dispute resolution with vendors.
  • Work closely with the Vendor Relationship Manager and other ICT experts in building relationships with new and existing suppliers, to progress the team and department's objectives.
