System Support Officer

Provide administrative and operational support to the Configuration team responsible for maintaining and enhancing Queensland Health’s Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). The role contributes to the effective delivery of configuration and change activities by supporting documentation, reporting, communication and record management processes. It also assists with testing and simple configuration tasks under supervision, helping ensure that system changes are implemented safely, accurately and on time.

What you'll do
- Support the preparation and distribution of reports, dashboards, and governance materials to track progress, performance, risks, and issues.
- Maintain accurate team documentation and assist with the development, maintenance, and updating of team procedures, templates, and work instructions.
- Support coordination and communication of configuration requests and change activities, including providing progress updates through tools such as ServiceNow, ensuring adherence to ITIL Service Management (ITSM) practices.
- Assist with simple configuration changes in line with clearly defined processes, ensuring quality, consistency, and security of outcomes.
- Support testing and validation activities under direction, including data entry, documentation, and tracking of results.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of laboratory and clinical information systems, configuration workflows, and associated business processes to effectively support the team.
- Support the Clinical Application Demand Management Framework by completing assigned tasks, maintaining accurate ServiceNow data, and raising issues or risks with the appropriate team members.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality client service and operational support in an ICT or laboratory systems environment, including clear written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to apply problem-solving skills to investigate and document issues, follow established processes, and escalate appropriately to ensure timely resolution.
- Demonstrated capability to provide accurate and timely administrative and coordination support, including maintenance of documentation, reports, and records in line with defined processes.
- Ability to follow defined procedures to assist with configuration, testing, and documentation activities while maintaining attention to detail and quality outcomes.
- Experience in contributing to the improvement of team practices, procedures, and documentation through feedback and collaboration.
