Your new role:

As an Advanced Allied Health Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting allied health professionals and delivering high-quality care to patients with complex and chronic health needs. Working under the direction and delegation of Allied Health Professionals, you'll provide advanced clinical assistance while also helping coordinate, support and mentor other Allied Health Assistants within the Chronic Disease Service.

  • Provide specialised clinical screening and interventions as delegated by Allied Health Professionals.
  • Implement individual and group treatment programs and provide feedback on patient progress.
  • Support patients with personal care, manual handling, transport and therapy activities.
  • Set up, monitor and maintain clinical equipment, therapy resources and assistive devices.

About you:

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Allied Health Assistant who can confidently apply their skills within a defined scope of practice, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and provide leadership and support to other team members.

  • The ability to work collaboratively while understanding and maintaining your scope of practice.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Confidence to recognise changes in patient function or status and appropriately escalate concerns.
  • The ability to support, mentor and guide less experienced Allied Health Assistants and students.
