The Monitoring Officer is responsible for monitoring, and reporting on, registered and non-registered health service providers' compliance with immediate action restrictions imposed by the Health Ombudsman on the practice of their profession.

In this role you will:

  • Prepare and implement health practitioner compliance monitoring plans to manage risks to public health and safety.
  • Gather, verify, analyse, and interpret data to evaluation practitioner compliance, and assess risk to public health and safety, including developing recommendations for further action and drafting health practitioner restrictions to mitigate risk to public health and safety.
  • Prepare high quality correspondence, briefing papers, and reports about monitoring and compliance related matters in a timely manner.
  • Liaise as appropriate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the sharing of information to support the monitoring process and enhance service delivery.

Qualifications technical/educational

  • A detailed understanding of the Queensland health environment is desirable but not essential.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experience in complaints management and records management databases such as Resolve and Content Manager is also desirable.
