Your new role:
As a Switchboard & Telecommunications Officer, you'll be at the heart of communication across Bayside Health Service, providing professional and responsive switchboard services while supporting staff with telecommunications systems, devices and equipment. You'll use your initiative to respond to emergency and security calls, maintain accurate rosters and directories, troubleshoot telecommunications issues and represent Bayside as the Local Telecommunications Representative. This is a job-share position, working as part of a supportive team across Monday to Friday, including public holidays.

You're a confident and customer-focused communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can stay calm under pressure and enjoys using your initiative to solve problems and keep things running smoothly.
- Communication: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to communicate professionally with patients, visitors and staff at all levels.
- Customer focus: A genuine commitment to providing responsive, respectful and high-quality customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
- Problem-solving: Sound judgement and initiative, with the ability to quickly identify and respond appropriately to urgent, emergency and security situations.
- Organisation & accuracy: Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, rosters, records and telecommunications information accurately.
- Technology: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and the ability to quickly learn and confidently use new computer programs, switchboard systems and telecommunications equipment.

Patient Administrative Services, which is an element of the wider Corporate Services Division, provides administrative support to most areas of Redland and Wynnum Hospitals, including Wards, Operating Theatre, Outpatients and Emergency Departments, Allied Health, Switchboard and Front Reception.
