About the role

As a HBI Research Officer within the Herston Biofabrication Institute (HBI), you will coordinate, deliver and report on clinical research activities that support the translation of innovative healthcare solutions into clinical practice. Working within a multidisciplinary environment that combines healthcare, medical and engineering expertise, you will help advance personalised medical technologies, clinical research initiatives and point-of-care solutions that improve patient outcomes.

You will provide high-level research coordination across project implementation, ethics and governance processes, participant management, data collection and reporting activities. Depending on project requirements, you may also support clinical trials, manage grant-related activities, collaborate with industry and academic partners, and contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality research that supports innovation and health service improvement.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Coordinate and manage clinical research projects, ensuring compliance with research protocols, ethics requirements, governance processes and regulatory standards.
  • Provide expert advice and support to multidisciplinary teams regarding research design, data collection, analysis, reporting and project implementation.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with clinicians, researchers, academics, students, industry stakeholders and external collaborators.
  • Monitor research milestones, risks, budgets and project deliverables while managing multiple priorities and supporting continuous service improvement.
  • Contribute to clinical trial coordination, grant administration, quality improvement initiatives and the development of research practices, procedures and protocols.
