The Office of the Deputy Director-General, Community Services and Consumer Protection (ODDG CSCP)

The Community Services and Consumer Protection Division brings together services that interact with important moments in people's lives, protects consumers and vulnerable people, supports communities and community organisations, and regulates industries that matter to Queensland's economy and wellbeing. The ODDG coordinates executive priorities, advice, correspondence, governance and stakeholder engagement across a diverse portfolio of customer service, community support and regulatory functions.

The Role

As Director, ODDG CSCP you will act as a trusted advisor to the Deputy Director-General, providing recommendations and resolutions across a wide range of divisional matters. Highly flexible, dependable and resourceful, you will draw upon your strategic collaboration skills to build strong relationships, communicating across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. 

Your success in collating, processing and presenting information to the Deputy Director-General will help advance departmental objectives, resolve emerging issues and prevent reputational damage.

Leading by example, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective office management, including budget oversight and adherence to statutory responsibilities, government priorities and departmental policies. As Director, you will also be responsible for representing the Deputy Director-General at key whole-of-government forums and internal departmental governance committees.

About You

As the Director, ODDG CSCP, you will bring:

• Strategic Leadership: Proven expertise in leading and navigating teams within large and complex organisations.
• Public Administration expertise: Experience in navigating complex public administration policies and systems.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills: Highly skilled in collaborating, communicating and negotiating with diverse stakeholders, managing sensitive matters with discretion, and building partnerships internally and externally.
• Enhanced written and verbal communications: With the ability to converse with all levels of staff, prepare and review high level public sector correspondence including speeches, reports, memoranda and briefing notes and coordinate departmental responses.
• Drive to apply contemporary solutions to make positive change: A focus on making positive improvements both within the division and for the community we serve.
