An exciting opportunity for an innovative and creative professional to join the Queensland Virtual Academy (QVA) as a Teacher: Music - Learning Experience Designer (Motion & Graphics). This role will shape the future of digital learning by designing high-quality, engaging On-demand Learning Materials to bring the ACv9 The Arts: Music curriculum to life for Prep-6 students across Queensland. Working with curriculum experts, teachers and producers, you’ll combine animation, motion design and visual communication to create educational experiences. You’ll also play a role in establishing QVA’s visual identity and building a library of reusable design, motion graphics and learning assets that enhance engagement, improve learning outcomes and support resource development. What you need to succeed
We're looking for an innovative, highly creative and collaborative professional who is passionate about using design and digital media to transform the learning experience for students.
You'll bring demonstrated experience in animation, motion design, visual communication or learning experience design, with the ability to turn complex concepts into clear, engaging and educational visual experiences. You'll thrive in a collaborative environment, working with curriculum experts and production teams to develop high-quality digital resources that support teaching and learning across Queensland.
The role will:
- Collaborate with teachers, curriculum writers and producers to translate curriculum intent into engaging and purposeful visual learning experiences.
- Apply contemporary design principles and visual communication strategies to reduce cognitive load, support knowledge retention and improve accessibility for diverse learners.
- Provide specialist advice on visual storytelling, animation and educational media throughout the production lifecycle, from concept development through to final delivery.
- Establish and maintain scalable production workflows and asset management processes that improve efficiency, collaboration and quality across deliverables.
- Build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
- Undertake other duties as required.
Specifically, the ideal applicant will demonstrate:
- Demonstrated experience in animation, motion graphics, illustration, visual communication or learning experience design.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary animation and digital design workflows, with practical experience across the design and production process.
- The ability to translate complex educational concepts into clear, engaging and visually effective learning experiences.
- Experience developing reusable designs, templates and creative assets that support consistency, efficiency and scalable production.
- The ability to provide creative direction, design advice and innovative solutions to enhance digital learning experiences.
- An understanding of learning design principles and how purposeful visual communication can improve learner engagement, understanding and retention.
- Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality assets within required timeframes.
