Cleaner - Harlaxton State School

Seeking a cleaner ideally experienced in a commercial or school environment to contribute to the efficient and effective cleaning operation of our Toowoomba school working the afternoon shift between the hours of 2pm and 6pm Monday to Friday.

One day each week will have a different start time, which may involve an earlier finish or later start. This arrangement is negotiable.

The ideal candidate demonstrates sound governance with chemical and risk management, will be comfortable working alone and as part of a team and can foster healthy and inclusive workplaces.

About us:

Harlaxton is a small school in a northern suburb of Toowoomba, the regional centre of the Darling Downs, 140km west of Brisbane.

The school opened on September 2nd, 1901 and has strong partnerships with many local community organisations who support us economically and socially.

Harlaxton State School is a (PBL) ‘Positive Behaviour for Learning' school.

Our aim is to inspire students to succeed, foster high expectations and prepare them for positive participation within society.

Your opportunity:

The role reports to the Principal and Business Manager.

General responsibilities include:

  • Undertake cleaning of windows and doors to maintain a clean and presentable school environment.
  • Clean and maintain toilets and other relevant areas to ensure they are kept hygienic and in a suitable condition.
  • Clean concrete and paved surfaces as required, ensuring these areas are maintained to an appropriate standard.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties including rubbish control, dusting, vacuuming and ongoing floor maintenance.
