About us:

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service provides Child and Family Health services across a diverse region, from regional cities and rural communities in the west to beachside communities along the coast.

Our Child, Youth and Family Health service is child-centred and family-focused, supporting families through health promotion and education, health and developmental surveillance, early identification of family needs and risks, early intervention and coordinated care.

Our teams work in partnership with parents and carers to build confidence, strengthen family relationships and support the health, development and emotional wellbeing of children and families. Care is delivered across a range of settings including family homes, community clinics, hospitals, schools and other community locations, as well as through telephone and telehealth services.

About the role:

As a Clinical Nurse – Child, Youth and Family Health, you'll bring advanced clinical expertise and autonomy to the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care.

You'll undertake comprehensive family assessments, develop and coordinate care plans, provide health education and early intervention, and build therapeutic partnerships with children, parents and carers. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you'll support families with diverse and sometimes complex needs while promoting responsive parenting and positive outcomes for children.

As a senior clinician, you'll also provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to nursing staff and contribute to education, quality improvement, clinical governance, research and evidence-based practice.

The position may involve home visiting and travel between facilities and locations across Central Queensland.

About you:

You are an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about Child and Family Health and committed to delivering contemporary, evidence-based and family-focused care.

You'll bring advanced clinical assessment, care planning, problem-solving and coordination skills, together with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. You're a confident clinical leader who can mentor others, communicate effectively with families and healthcare teams, and contribute positively to quality, safety and service improvement.

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse is mandatory. A relevant postgraduate qualification, or evidence of enrolment, is highly desirable. Immunisation Practice Nurse and Board-Certified Lactation Consultant qualifications will also be highly regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,931 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $57.76 - $61.85 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
