About us:

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service provides Child and Family Health services across a diverse region, from regional cities and rural communities to coastal locations. Our child-centred, family-focused service provides health promotion, education, developmental surveillance, early intervention and care coordination, supporting families to build confidence and capacity and achieve positive outcomes for their children. Services are delivered across family homes, community clinics, hospitals, schools and other community settings, as well as through telehealth and telephone consultation.

About the role:

As Clinical Nurse Consultant – Child, Youth and Family Health, you will provide expert clinical leadership, consultancy and advanced nursing practice across Child and Family Health services. Working with a high level of autonomy, you'll provide both direct and indirect care while supporting clinical decision-making, governance, quality improvement and workforce development.

You'll provide clinical leadership across universal, universal plus and enhanced models of care, including Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home-visiting (MECSH), and support outreach services across Central Queensland. You'll also mentor and educate staff, contribute to evidence-based practice and service improvement, and provide professional and clinical support to regional and rural teams. Travel across CQHHS is a requirement of the role.

About you:

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in Child and Family Health nursing and a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and family-centred care. You'll bring strong clinical leadership, critical thinking and decision-making skills, along with the ability to mentor others, lead improvement initiatives and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse is mandatory. A relevant postgraduate qualification, or evidence of enrolment, is highly desirable, while Immunisation Practice Nurse and Board-Certified Lactation Consultant qualifications will also be highly regarded. A current Class C driver licence is required.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $87,103 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $70.92 - $77.00 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
