DoJ is implementing new ways of managing its information assets, through implementing a new records management platform, and working closely with business users to uplift information practices. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, governing, and delivering strategic Information Management transformation initiatives that improve DoJ’s information and data management. You will ensure successful implementation of business and technology changes through effective project management, stakeholder engagement, governance, risk management, and change adoption activities.
The position operates across business and technology functions to deliver measurable business outcomes while ensuring compliance with information governance, privacy, security, and records management requirements. This role is aligned to the Skills for the Information Age.

Your key responsibilities:
- Lead a project team that will deliver Information Management transformation projects including establishing project governance and controls, reporting, schedules and cost management.
- Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills to enable effective business change related to information management and security, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence key stakeholders.
- Deliver initiatives focused on information management and security including adoption of information and records governance, information security such as sensitivity labelling and classification and technology innovation including AI.
- Support development of information management policies, standards, metadata models, taxonomy frameworks, and governance processes.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability:
Project Management expertise
Proven high level experience in:
- Leading a team to enable the end-to-end delivery of Information Management transformation projects.
- Establish project governance, reporting, controls, budgets, schedules, and delivery frameworks.
- Manage project scope, dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions, and decision logs.
- Ensure delivery aligns with organisational strategy, architecture standards, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate internal delivery teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
Information Management Transformation
Proven high level experience in delivering initiatives and developing business process improvement in:
- Information Governance
- Records Management
- Content and Document Management
- Information Architecture
- Knowledge Management
- Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Modernisation
- Information Lifecycle Management
- Retention and Disposal Programs
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence in information management reform
Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving
- Demonstrated, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex issues, identify root causes and propose effective solutions to business process problems
Stakeholder engagement and change management
Proven high level experience in:
- Initiating, influencing and maintaining relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
Communication and negotiation
Proven high level experience in:
- Providing expert advice and communicate solution alternatives, program and enterprise risks, issues and resulting implications.
- Demonstrating experience in developing comprehensive responses, briefs, submissions, presentations and reports to guide the development and implementation of programs
Promoting team culture
- Cultivate an ethical, positive, cohesive team environment that values collaboration and the wellbeing of all team members and clients.
