In the role of Inspector (Roadworks) you will inspect new construction works, routine, programmed, rehabilitation and reactive maintenance contracts, third party road corridor works such as public utility plant and developer works and support the management of critical incident and declared disaster events, ensuring delivery of high standards of quality, economy, governance, and safety are achieved.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Develop a strong understanding of contract requirements, contractor construction methods, planned works sequencing and associated surveillance plans.
• Provide technical support, advice and input to support effective outcomes across sole invitee, local government and open contracts.
• Conduct surveillance inspections of contractor work, processes, temporary traffic management, quality, environmental controls and safety to ensure compliance with specifications, legislation and contract conditions.
• Maintain detailed records, including diaries, test results, photos and reports, and provide regular advice on contractor performance and project progress.
• Independently identify road infrastructure hazards and defects, investigate public complaints and requests, and provide advice on prioritisation and appropriate remediation treatments.
• Participate in contractual meetings, disaster preparedness and training, Public Utility Plant investigation and relocation activities, and the Roadworks Inspector Career Development Program.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Current 'Class C' driver license
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check and serious disciplinary action declaration will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Desirable qualifications
• Possession of a Certificate III in Civil Construction
• Possession of a WHS White Card (General Construction induction)
