About your opportunity
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) assists and supports Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses in the provision of quality patient care. This requires performing of service activities and aspects of direct patient care. The AIN works under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse however retains accountability for personal actions in fulfilling their role.
This Expression of Interest collects a variety of information that will help the Townsville Hospital and Health Service identify potentially suitable applicants for future Assistant In Nursing employment opportunities.
If deemed suitable your details will remain in the Clinical Talent Pool for a period of 12 months and you will be contacted further by the Hughenden Multi-Purpose Health Service at the time an opportunity arises.
Further participation in other recruitment selection processes (for example written application and/or interview) to further assess suitability for appointment to a specific position may be required. Specialty skills will be assessed to determine eligibility for available positions.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $44.02 to $48.20 p.h. (Nurse Grade 1 Band 1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- Highly Desirable: Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are considered highly desirable:
- Hold a relevant Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Service Assistant or equivalent, or
- Successful completion of the first semester full-time equivalent Diploma of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies, or
- Successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
