About the Department of Education:
Working for the Queensland Department of Education means joining an organisation that values its people and promotes leadership and innovation. Be part of an environment that respects professionalism and diversity, offers training and development opportunities and embraces flexible careers and work-life balance. Find out more about working with us.
About us:
Rosedale State School is a vibrant Kindergarten to Year 12 campus located in the heart of Queensland's North Coast uniquely situated between Bundaberg and Agnes Waters, offering families a complete educational journey from early childhood to graduation — all on one connected, community-focused site.
Our school is built on strong foundations of inclusivity, care, and opportunity.
We proudly serve the Rosedale district and surrounding communities, providing high-quality public education in a supportive, small-school environment where every student is known by name, and every family is part of the learning journey.
Your opportunity:
The successful applicant will have a key leadership role across the school, with responsibility for:
- Leading and supporting our Secondary students and staff
- Providing line management to two Heads of Department
- Leading curriculum development and implementation across the school
- Overseeing whole-school timetabling
- Contributing to strategic planning, wellbeing and the ongoing development of our school culture
- Building strong, respectful relationships with students, staff, families and the wider community
While these are the core responsibilities of the role, we are looking for the right person rather than simply filling a list of duties. We recognise that great leaders bring different strengths, experiences and passions.
The final portfolio can be shaped around the successful applicant's strengths, interests and areas of expertise.
We would particularly value someone with an understanding of trauma-informed approaches, a strong commitment to student wellbeing, and the ability to build authentic and positive relationships within a close-knit community.
If you are an enthusiastic, compassionate and courageous leader who wants to be part of a school where relationships matter, every student is known, and your leadership can have a visible impact, we would love to hear from you.
Interested? To Apply:
- Attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history)
- Attach a 2-page response to the How you will be assessed section of the attached role description.
- Attach a copy of your mandatory qualifications/registration outlined in the attached role description.
We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.
Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.
Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.
