This pivotal role leads a diverse and influential portfolio spanning enterprise change and performance, finance, governance, risk and assurance, legal services, and regulatory compliance and enforcement. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will provide trusted advice to the Board and Executive Leadership Team, bringing an enterprise-wide perspective to risk and financial management, organisational performance, decision-making and change management. You will play an important role in translating strategy into action, strengthening organisational capability and ensuring the RTA continues to operate as a contemporary, effective service provider and trusted regulator.
As a key driver of organisational performance and culture, you will lead across multiple specialist functions, bringing people together around shared priorities and creating the conditions for high-performance partnerships and outcomes. Success will require an experienced executive with strong financial and commercial acumen who can promote organisational resilience, build effective risk management capability, and embed governance and enterprise change practices to support the business to achieve its strategic objectives. You will have deep experience drawing on the expertise of specialist teams while maintaining clear executive accountability, balancing strong governance and sound judgement with a pragmatic, values-driven approach to continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader who leads with integrity and is comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity, leading change and building high-performing teams. You will bring extensive experience advising Boards, executives and diverse stakeholders on complex and sensitive matters, together with a strong record of influencing across an organisation, building trust and delivering results. Experience within government, a statutory body, regulated environment or similarly complex organisation or sector will be highly regarded.
The RTA offers the opportunity to influence the future of Queensland's rental sector, working with a clear mandate to improve performance, strengthen capability, and build confidence, stability and trust in Queensland's rental system from the start of a new four-year strategic phase. This is a unique opportunity for a senior executive to lead within a values-driven organisation committed to inclusion, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
