As the Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in creating safe, healthy and supportive school environments. You’ll drive the continuous improvement of the Department’s Health, Safety and
Wellbeing Management System, ensuring best practice and legislative compliance, while providing practical support to schools across risk management, incident reporting and rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.
This is an opportunity to use your expertise to make a meaningful impact on staff wellbeing and strengthen a positive culture of safety across our school communities.
This position is advertised as a full-time 1.0
FTE role; however, we are open to negotiating a flexible arrangement between 0.6 and 1.0 FTE to suit the successful applicant.

Your opportunity:
As the Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator, your responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide clear, timely and confidential advice to school leadership and staff on health, safety and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with regional and corporate teams to strengthen local practices and ensure compliance with the HSWMS.
- Assist with audits, inspections, emergency preparedness, ensuring corrective actions and hazard controls are effectively implemented at nominated school/s.
- Support ill or injured staff through early intervention, maintaining regular contact, and coordinating rehabilitation and return to work processes.
- Monitor data in MyHR WHS to identify emerging risks and trends and recommend strategies for improvement.
