We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) as Manager Compliance and Enforcement. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a specialist regulatory team responsible for delivering compliance, investigative and enforcement activities that support legislative compliance and improve outcomes across Queensland’s rental sector.

Reporting to the Director Governance, Risk and Compliance, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic and operational compliance and enforcement programs that support the RTA's regulatory vision and objectives. You will oversee day-to-day regulatory operations while providing leadership, direction and expertise to a high-performing team.

This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory activities are intelligence-led, risk-based and focused on achieving measurable outcomes for the rental sector. You will work across the RTA and with external stakeholders to identify emerging risks, improve compliance capability and strengthen regulatory effectiveness.

To be successful you will need:

  • Extensive experience leading compliance, regulatory, investigative, assurance, enforcement or similar functions
  • Strong leadership capability, including experience developing high-performing teams and managing complex regulatory matters
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and intelligence to inform decision-making and regulatory priorities
  • Experience developing and implementing risk-based regulatory programs, frameworks or initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships across diverse sectors
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level reports, briefings and correspondence
  • Sound judgement and the ability to navigate complex or sensitive issues within a dynamic operating environment.
