Students at Mabel Park also learn beyond the walls of the classroom. Extra-curricular activities include sport, art, drama and a vast variety of activities which will be organised and supervised during lunchtimes by staff who have volunteered to do those activities.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Provide strategic leadership to improve student learning outcomes, achievement, engagement and attendance, particularly for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, through innovative and socially just practices.
- Monitor and respond to student needs by analysing individual performance, behaviour, attendance and wellbeing data, and developing targeted intervention strategies to support academic, social and emotional outcomes.
- Build strong partnerships and community engagement with parents, schools, higher education institutions, State Schools Division, external agencies, local businesses and community organisations to support students, families and successful transitions.
- Lead data-informed practice and capacity building by preparing data and reports for senior management, and developing tools, resources and guidance to support regional teams and teachers to improve student achievement and attendance.
- Lead effective governance and resource management by ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and departmental policies, and managing human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources to achieve team and regional priorities.
