About the role

As Director Strategy, Planning and Risk, you will provide strategic leadership across the North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) planning, risk, emergency preparedness and project portfolios. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Board, clinicians, operational leaders and community partners, you will translate strategy into action and help shape sustainable, innovative and high quality healthcare across North West Queensland.

  • Lead strategic planning and priority projects that support future health service delivery, infrastructure, sustainability and innovation across the NWHHS.
  • Drive improvement and organisational change, working collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders to deliver measurable outcomes and strengthen performance.
  • Build influential partnerships and engagement across the health system, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, consumers, health service partners and key regional organisations.

Requirements

  • Strong program and project management skills are essential.
  • While not mandatory relevant experience in change management and continuous improvement will be highly regarded.
  • While not mandatory, there is an expectation that applicants will possess or be working towards a post-graduate qualification in the health management, business administration or related field.
  • The position may involve travel to various facilities or units within the North West Hospital and Health Service and as a NWHHS representative at State or National forums as required.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
