This is an opportunity to use your strong administrative and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment, helping patients, families and healthcare teams navigate their Emergency Department experience with professionalism, empathy and care.

Your new role:
As an Administration Officer in our Emergency Department, you will provide efficient and responsive administrative support to patients, families, medical and nursing staff. Working in a busy 24/7 environment, you will be an important point of contact for people presenting to the Emergency Department, helping ensure patient information is accurate, processes are completed efficiently and patients are directed to the right care and support. In this role, you will:
- Register, admit, transfer and discharge patients using FirstNet and HBCIS
- Provide professional and compassionate assistance to patients, families, visitors, Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service
- Accurately collect and update patient information, including completing admission and Patient Election Form processes
- Coordinate documentation, transport and information updates associated with patient transfers and discharges
- Prioritise competing workloads and respond flexibly to the changing needs of a busy Emergency Department

ou are an organised and adaptable administration professional who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment. You will bring strong communication and customer service skills, sound administrative capability and the ability to remain calm, professional and responsive when priorities change. Most importantly, you will demonstrate empathy, respect and a commitment to providing a positive experience for patients and those who support them. You will bring:
- Strong administrative, secretarial and office procedure skills, with demonstrated attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
- A strong customer and client focus, with the ability to build positive relationships and understand the needs of others
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Strong computer skills and experience working with administrative systems and processes

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
