The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse (Renal) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and manage individualised nursing care plans
- Monitor patients for changes in clinical condition
- Care for patients receiving Haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and other renal replacement therapies
- Administer medications and treatments safely
- Recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration and escalate concerns
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (up to 3 months with the possibility of extension, 64 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $44.27 - $56.79 per hour
About Us
The Renal Inpatient Unit (IPU) is an acute and fast paced 28-bed unit within the Specialist Medical service line stream of the Medicine directorate within Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS). This unit is based at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) and provides care for all Renal patients within the GCHHS district.
The Renal IPU works very closely in collaboration with the Dialysis units within both GCUH and Robina Hospital, Tugan Satellite Health Centre and Southport Home Therapy Unit. There is a very strong multidisciplinary team approach to delivering the highest standards in evidence-based, patient-centred care.
