Your new role:
As a Principal House Officer / Registrar, you'll provide high-quality medical care across Geriatrics & Rehabilitation and, where required, Perioperative Medicine, working closely with experienced consultant medical staff and a multidisciplinary team. You'll have the opportunity to:
- Assess and manage inpatient and outpatient patients, including Day Hospital patients.
- Develop and implement management plans in consultation with senior medical staff.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, allied health and the wider multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
- Support and provide guidance to junior medical staff, interns and residents.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, GPs and other healthcare professionals to support safe and coordinated care.
- Participate in clinical meetings, education, training, audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in the relevant on-call and after-hours rosters.
About you:
You'll be a collaborative and compassionate medical professional who is committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care and developing your clinical expertise, with:
- A relevant medical tertiary degree and current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge in general medicine and rehabilitation medicine appropriate to your level of training.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work positively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
- The ability to provide guidance and support to junior medical staff.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, education and continuous learning.
- A strong commitment to patient-centred care and the values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Empathy.
- A proactive approach to quality improvement, safe work practices and contributing to a positive team culture.
