Temporary full-time and/or part-time positions available for doctors seeking to develop their clinical skills within a supportive Geriatrics & Rehabilitation service across Logan and Beaudesert.

Your new role:

As a Principal House Officer / Registrar, you'll provide high-quality medical care across Geriatrics & Rehabilitation and, where required, Perioperative Medicine, working closely with experienced consultant medical staff and a multidisciplinary team. You'll have the opportunity to:

• Assess and manage inpatient and outpatient patients, including Day Hospital patients.
• Develop and implement management plans in consultation with senior medical staff.
• Work collaboratively with nursing, allied health and the wider multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Support and provide guidance to junior medical staff, interns and residents.
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers, GPs and other healthcare professionals to support safe and coordinated care.
• Participate in clinical meetings, education, training, audits and continuous improvement activities.
• Participate in the relevant on-call and after-hours rosters.

About you:

You'll be a collaborative and compassionate medical professional who is committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care and developing your clinical expertise, with:

• A relevant medical tertiary degree and current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge in general medicine and rehabilitation medicine appropriate to your level of training.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work positively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
• The ability to provide guidance and support to junior medical staff.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development, education and continuous learning.
• A strong commitment to patient-centred care and the values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Empathy.
• A proactive approach to quality improvement, safe work practices and contributing to a positive team culture.

Logan Hospital:

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
