Regional, Rural and Remote Opportunities with Queensland Health

Queensland Health is seeking Expressions of Interest from International Medical Graduates (IMGs) interested in future Junior Medical Officer opportunities across our regional, rural and remote Hospital and Health Services throughout Queensland, Australia.

This talent pool is designed to connect experienced doctors with upcoming opportunities in a variety of clinical settings, offering the chance to build a rewarding medical career while making a meaningful impact in regional and rural communities.

As a Junior Medical Officer, you will work within multidisciplinary teams, gain broad clinical experience, and contribute to delivering high-quality healthcare across diverse regional, rural and remote communities.

Opportunities may be available for:

  • L2-L3: Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) and Junior House Officers (JHOs) and Senior House Officers (SHOs)
  • L4-L7: Principal House Officers (PHOs)

Eligibility

To be considered, you must have:

  • A recognised primary medical qualification
  • Recent experience working as a Junior Medical Officer or equivalent
  • Demonstrated clinical experience across multiple clinical rotations
  • The ability to meet Queensland Health vaccination requirements

AHPRA Registration

Applicants must be eligible to obtain registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). - https://www.medicalboard.gov.au/Registration/International-Medical-Graduates.aspx Appointment to a position cannot be made until the applicable registration requirements have been met and appropriate registration has been granted.
