The Richmond Multipurpose Health Service in NORTH WEST QUEENSLAND are seeking an experienced and client focused Clinical Nurse - Community Health.

This role is a temporary full-time commencing ASAP - 14/12/2026.
PLEASE NOTE - There is a possibility of an extension not exceeding a total of 18 months.

About the opportunity  

The Clinical Nurse - Community Health will coordinate services that are inclusive of visiting allied health, women's health and sexual health, paediatric services and oral health for the Richmond and surrounding district.  The community nurse will provide community-based health care inclusive of child health and immunisation clinics and home visiting to promote, maintain and improve the health and well-being of the Richmond population by utilising holistic and comprehensive assessment practices to develop and implement care plans in consultation with key health care providers.  The PHN deliver allied health services as per schedule.

About the unit

The Richmond Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) is a small rural hospital with 10 beds, an oral health clinic and community health services. Up to four beds are utilised for long stay nursing home type patients.  The MPHS provides an emergency service, general medical/post-surgical and paediatric inpatient care, pharmacy service, and adult community services and child health services within both the outpatients area and in the community.  The Primary Healthcare Network (PHN) deliver allied health services as per schedule.  Seriously ill patients are evacuated to a tertiary facility, and this is coordinated by Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ) utilising the services of Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Base salary range: $4390.00 - $4700.90  p.f.  (NG6-1)

  • Locality and Uniform Allowance 
  • 4 weeks recreational leave p.a. + 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Accommodation: On-site single staff accommodation will be provided for the successful applicant.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Adult Life Support certificate: Must obtain and maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per THHSCLI040151 Life Support Training and Assessment
  • Driver Licence: This position requires the applicant to possess an appropriate license to operate a Class C (car) motor vehicle. 
  • Rural and Remote Incentive Package (RANIP): Successful applicants may be eligible for RANIP.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or a NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
